^ growth wall! notice now I never made it past like, a quarter of the way up? yeah, yeah. my older guy cousins made it to the top, and my last mark stopped at about, 2002. nbd.
coolest rain jacket ever, no?
we made a quick trip out to bonne bay the other day just to check up on the cabin and drop off some stuff, and i was HOPING to get some more photos but the weather was a bit too wet to stay out and shoot for long.
also… 65+ hour work weeks anyone? you don’t even want to knoww how much coffee i’ve been drinking. besides working at the gallery now and ski world later, i’m currently going through my bloglovin account though and trying to bookmark images for ideas and trying to write out a few project/photoshoot ideas of my own for the summer. there’s so much I’d like to do, it just seems like until august everything is going to be a biit of a three job blur. it’s definitely worth it though, and a 50 f/1.4 will be mine within a week! can’t wait.
gallery set up for the new show is still going well! i’ve said this before, but man it’s awesome to see a show going up from start to finish. meeting and helping out the artists has been huge too, and one in particular who works primarily with textiles invited me to her studio to see more of her work and learn from her if i was interested. HUGE. i’m definitely taking her up on that. other than that, today was set up for the walls and it was cool to figure that stuff out too – like how to properly install pieces on the wall and measure for them. the only thing left is labeling and lighting, and then the opening! which I can’t make it sadly because I’m working at another job, but what can you do? at least I’ve been here for this stuff.
aaand now i’m half asleep. today was… wake up [late], work at the gallery, home to let panda out, george’s to pick up a cheque, back to work at the gallery, studying for an hour, english exam, home, supper, laundry, editing, bed. my days are always crazy, but that’s not a complaint! i actually wouldn’t change it, and this is definitely already the best summer ever.
so i logged into bloglovin and tumblr this morning to check out some of the new submissions on some sites and blogs that I follow, and saw my photo featured here on Things Organized Neatly with over 920 likes or reposts so far! definitely cool, so check out the tumblr too – the OCD in me pretty much dies for it.
and now i have to stop procrastinating and get back at my homework. and by get back at, i mean start. so far, todays progress includes… making breakfast and doing the dishes. right.
yesterday was the perfect first real summer day. i actually managed to get up (somewhat) early and make it to school for a quick meeting for a group project, went out to lunch with a best friend of mine, bought some shirts from a boy of mine, visited another best friend, worked for a bit, went on my first (polar) float of the year with my sister and friend, and even managed to return to a normal body temperature later even though the water was pretty much five degrees.
this summer is definitely going to be the busiest summer ever, but I’m looking forward to it. i have a new job at the gallery too! while it may be job number three, it means that my tuition is paid for next term and i get money for myself besides. soo happy, i’ve had my fingers crossed for this job for a while! working for school, in an art-related job? … yes please.
