i’ve been on a pretty big clean-reorganize-DIY kick lately. i blame picking through anthropologie one too many times. what a dream job working for that company would be! has anyone seen their store installations? whoa. sure its retail, but its also definitely art.
i’m also confused, has anyone seen christmas vacation or new years? i seem to have lost about 3 weeks of time that i vaguely remember but there’s no way it’s already over. if you find it though, please let me know! hopeless optimism here. schoolwork has already returned full force, and between assignments and editing it’s flat out as per usual again. and not that i mind a schedule, i am just overly attached to sleep (and 8:30 classes are fairly unforgiving).
i hope everyone else’s january isn’t kicking in too bad!
what a nuts week. the countdown to jamaican times has shifted from being 13 days into one powerpoint presentation, one artist statement essay, one canadian art history 8 page paper, one feminism project, one drawing project, one digital project, and final edits to a wedding, family shoot, and engagement shoot.
i feel like i’m behind about a month’s worth of sleep too, so logically… today was spent picking up beach glass. now, i know the train of thought there isn’t exactly solid but i’ll explain. the intention was photos for a project, but after seeing beach glass for miles (we actually walked over 4 kms) photos were forgotten and i managed to fill up an entire bag. its crazy how much going outside and just doing something in fresh air can put you back together! does anyone have any ideas on what to do with the glass? i know it’ll be made into some sort of project, but as per what we’re not exactly sure!
So, besides just sleeping in my room, it’s also the place where I do most of my editing. And if you know me well, you know I’m organized right down to the last movie title in it’s proper alphabetical place. My closet is also organized by type, and color. I wish I were kidding you, but on the other hand I’m actually half proud.
I just find that I’m more productive if everything is clean, so I was definitely pumped when my jewelry rack came in from Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago. Hideous bulletin board, be gone! My only complaint? Shipping from the states might be a necessary evil, but is evil nonetheless.
i still haven’t managed to take any real shots of it, but i just set A Shot in the Dark to public on blurb for anyone to see or buy! you can click the link to go check it out!
in others news… i have some huuge news to tell soon once I know everything has been worked out! that, and a 35mm 1.4 will soon be mine too! seriously can’t wait, lens envy was too green of a monster for me to wait any longer. go figure!
