i am a blessed kid this week! after celebrating the end of classes annd two years together (whoa), dru gave me flowers on friday and I haven’t stopped staring at them since. seriously though, they’ve opened so pretty! i couldn’t help but grab my camera and take a few shots of them today.
and in thinking about it, i actually don’t remember the last time i took my camera out for myself! so nice.
so vaughn’s lying on a newfoundland flag, the brown thing underneath the flag is a beaver pelt, and his salt and pepper hat is lying close by. so no, this really could not have gotten any more newfoundland.
therefore, i had a solid laugh yesterday when i stumbled across this photo. i feel like he’s punching it and saying “newfoundland… represent.” even his little face looks so serious!
who wouldn’t want to start off a sunday morning with this little face?
seriously. suz (the beautiful momma pictured above!) is a good friend of mine & dru’s, and when she asked us to get together for a shoot with her little one i was in.
if i’m being honest, baby sessions are my favorite. who isn’t going to love a photo of a baby? and even in the madness i find those sessions really calming. is that weird? maybe its the oldest sister in me, or the old swim coach. i mean, hello… kiddy classes were the bomb. who else is going to say to me in awe, “wow, teacher! you swim like a dolphin… who swims like… like a mermaid!” now, while in reality that would probably look pretty messed up i still take it as a large compliment coming from a very shy three year old, and i laughed after that lesson for days. (thanks again grant!) seriously though, i say pass those sessions on.
on that note, the list of things to do/shoot when classes finally clues up is becoming endless. i love it.
this is the second last part of the grad catalogue series! funny how what has kept me busy for the entire month of february has made all the difference for my whole term, and for what I picked out for my graduation show too. speaking off… the grad show pieces got delivered yesterday! SUCH a relief.
back to… applications, work, and essays up to my eyeballs. 12 days to go!
a few favorites from a roll of film i’ve had in my camera for a few months now! dru actually just bought a scanner, so now we’ll be able to have all of our negatives uploaded and in a much better quality than the discs we’ve been getting from walmart. much better!
on another note… my fourth year project has been ordered!
(panic totally ensued typing that).
but seriously, that’s it, that’s all, its done, and there’s no making changes now. such a weird feeling! i just need to stop second guessing choices in the mean time. it was hard to narrow down what i’ve been up to and i would never be able to include everything that i would like (i’m a bit nonstalgic for shake face right now) but my teachers and few friends i’ve had to get opinions from have been supportive of what has been put together. so, i think i’m going to be really happy with it! only 29 days until the show, and the days to no more classes count… 16!
my grad photo time had to come too, and luckily it was painless! dru was awesome enough to shoot it for me yesterday and it ended up turning out to be quite a sunday.
first i had breakfast cooked for me, then we packed up to spend the day in gros morne for a photo drive, then i was proud of myself for remembering to bring rubber boots considering it was raining, then i realized said rubber boots were actually two different sizes but its no big deal because my right foot just enjoyed the dry extra room. then we drove home to cooked dinner and then thoroughly enjoyed a new episode of the walking dead to which i passed out cold before it ended. did i just admit that? sorry darryl. i’ll drool over you later this week, promise!
apart from some tire bustage, yesterday was seriously the best though. and as someone who would rather remove limbs than have her photo taken, i kind of maybe sort of love this photo (just a liiiiiiittle bit) because while i doubt many people will notice, it was taken as far from school as possible ; ) and on such a great day!
so for demo day at marble mountain just a few weekends ago i had the chance to work with one of my favorite people (and photographers!) David Howells again while on a shoot for Magine Snowboards. and although the weather was mildly uncooperative, we all still managed to get a few shots and figured i’d post some outtakes.
a huge thanks again to dave for asking myself and jess along, and to the Magine boys for being so good about it too!
