the tiredest

1-1i have a serious case of the tiredness tonight. its essentially going like this – computer opens… eyes shut. not the best case scenario but maybe just giving up and sleeping will be for the best!

much love, and luck to everyone else cluing up their work!

skona beach

Blog-1 Blog-4on the few hours break i had one day last week we ventured down to skona house, and while i didn’t get many photos i added a good handful to my beach glass collection. (so much cobalt blue! so worth it.)

guess who’s countdown has reached single digits?

andrew, raven, whitney, & virginia

Andrew-6 Raven-1 Whitney-1Virginia-1this is the second last part of the grad catalogue series! funny how what has kept me busy for the entire month of february has made all the difference for my whole term, and for what I picked out for my graduation show too. speaking off… the grad show pieces got delivered yesterday! SUCH a relief.

back to… applications, work, and essays up to my eyeballs. 12 days to go!

much love,

film & fourth year

Dru-1 Horses-1 Me-1a few favorites from a roll of film i’ve had in my camera for a few months now! dru actually just bought a scanner, so now we’ll be able to have all of our negatives uploaded and in a much better quality than the discs we’ve been getting from walmart. much better!

on another note… my fourth year project has been ordered!

(panic totally ensued typing that).

but seriously, that’s it, that’s all, its done, and there’s no making changes now. such a weird feeling! i just need to stop second guessing choices in the mean time. it was hard to narrow down what i’ve been up to and i would never be able to include everything that i would like (i’m a bit nonstalgic for shake face right now) but my teachers and few friends i’ve had to get opinions from have been supportive of what has been put together. so, i think i’m going to be really happy with it! only 29 days until the show, and┬áthe days to no more classes count… 16!

hope everyone’s having a good week!

double exposure: photoshop edition

LR Double Exposure-1i’ve been curious for a while what it would be like to start doing manual double exposures, so on a fairly spur of the moment trip to st. john’s this weekend to see my sister i took advantage of the 8 hours travel time both ways and tried my hand at them.

i’ll admit i’m pretty much photoshop illiterate, so i edited both images in lightroom first and them imported them into photoshop, played with opacities, reimported the final images to lightroom and fixed minor details and clarity. thoughts? it still doesn’t touch film (duh, considering film is the best) but i think it might be interesting all the same.

hope everyone had a good weekend!

office space love

LCYhome_office1 LCYhome_office3 LCYhome_office5 LCYhome_office6 LCYhome_office9so, after having pinned the above images AGES ago and drooling over this home office space i’ve came back to them a few times and wondered where the mother they came from. if i could have an ideal editing set up, that’s exactly what it would look like.

anyway, after some serious clicking around today i finally managed to locate the original poster and owner of this kick-ass space on her blog here. her name is alaina kaczmarski, and good lord does she know how to do a black accent wall! do you agree? thoughts? change is such a good thing, and its time for me to freshen up my own editing space.

on the same note, if you haven’t heard of her yet (even though you have, because her style is amazing) i’d recommend you click over to jamie delaine‘s new blog and website. she’s been a favorite artist of mine for a while now and i’m a huge fan of the new redesign she’s just completed for this year. it’s simple and young, yet still classy. love it!

much love,
