newfoundland… represent!

Vaughn-1

so vaughn’s lying on a newfoundland flag, the brown thing underneath the flag is a beaver pelt, and his salt and pepper hat is lying close by. so no, this really could not have gotten any more newfoundland.

therefore, i had a solid laugh yesterday when i stumbled across this photo. i feel like he’s punching it and saying “newfoundland… represent.” even his little face looks so serious!

babies. hilarity!

hair today, gone tomorrow

Blog-3 Blog-2… not mine. yeah RIGHT.

sadly, dru and epic hair + shake-faces are coming to an end. but, the short hair is a welcome change and he’ll look awesome either way!

in other news… i may have slept in (i did) and unintentionally (honest) shaved my 6th last day of class completely off the map. (bad student. sorry pierre!)

seriously though, only 5 more days of driving back and forth to school say WHAT. and tomorrow is a holiday. and the sun is shining! the best.

much love,

vaughn

Suz-1 Suz-2who wouldn’t want to start off a sunday morning with this little face?

seriously. suz (the beautiful momma pictured above!) is a good friend of mine & dru’s, and when she asked us to get together for a shoot with her little one i was in.

if i’m being honest, baby sessions are my favorite. who isn’t going to love a photo of a baby? and even in the madness i find those sessions really calming. is that weird? maybe its the oldest sister in me, or the old swim coach. i mean, hello… kiddy classes were the bomb. who else is going to say to me in awe, “wow, teacher! you swim like a dolphin… who swims like… like a mermaid!” now, while in reality that would probably look pretty messed up i still take it as a large compliment coming from a very shy three year old, and i laughed after that lesson for days. (thanks again grant!) seriously though, i say pass those sessions on.

on that note, the list of things to do/shoot when classes finally clues up is becoming endless. i love it.

andrew, raven, whitney, & virginia

Andrew-6 Raven-1 Whitney-1Virginia-1this is the second last part of the grad catalogue series! funny how what has kept me busy for the entire month of february has made all the difference for my whole term, and for what I picked out for my graduation show too. speaking off… the grad show pieces got delivered yesterday! SUCH a relief.

back to… applications, work, and essays up to my eyeballs. 12 days to go!

film & fourth year

Dru-1 Horses-1 Me-1a few favorites from a roll of film i’ve had in my camera for a few months now! dru actually just bought a scanner, so now we’ll be able to have all of our negatives uploaded and in a much better quality than the discs we’ve been getting from walmart. much better!

on another note… my fourth year project has been ordered!

(panic totally ensued typing that).

but seriously, that’s it, that’s all, its done, and there’s no making changes now. such a weird feeling! i just need to stop second guessing choices in the mean time. it was hard to narrow down what i’ve been up to and i would never be able to include everything that i would like (i’m a bit nonstalgic for shake face right now) but my teachers and few friends i’ve had to get opinions from have been supportive of what has been put together. so, i think i’m going to be really happy with it! only 29 days until the show, and the days to no more classes count… 16!

hope everyone’s having a good week!

magine

Dave-1 Dave-2 Jess-3 Magine-4 Magine-5so for demo day at marble mountain just a few weekends ago i had the chance to work with one of my favorite people (and photographers!) David Howells again while on a shoot for Magine Snowboards. and although the weather was mildly uncooperative, we all still managed to get a few shots and figured i’d post some outtakes.

a huge thanks again to dave for asking myself and jess along, and to the Magine boys for being so good about it too!

jessica & adam

Preview-4 Preview-3 Preview-1 Preview-1-2it might have been (absolutely freezing) out but it sure looked pretty! these guys were troopers letting me drag them to a few places around the city, and i couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. hope you like!

bennett family!

Bennett-18 Bennett-27 Bennett-32 Bennett-40 Bennett-44 Bennett-47 Bennett-53 Bennett-69 Bennett-75 Bennett-82 Bennett-84 Bennett-87i was lucky enough to meet this little doll’s parents while on the jamaica wedding trip we photographed back in december, so when tonya contacted me afterwards and asked for a family session i had to say yes! she and lee are absolutely hilarious, so i of course jumped at the chance to meet their little head banger. (tonya has a video of emily doing this, not kidding. its hilarious).

another fun fact: lee has the fastest growing hair of any person i’ve ever met. when i met up with them for this shoot at first glance i didn’t know who he was, considering his much darker head of hair compared to very closely shaved head he was sporting in jamaica. truth.

in all honesty though, they were a wicked family to shoot and i’m really happy with how the photos turned out. hope you like!
