i am a blessed kid this week! after celebrating the end of classes annd two years together (whoa), dru gave me flowers on friday and I haven’t stopped staring at them since. seriously though, they’ve opened so pretty! i couldn’t help but grab my camera and take a few shots of them today.
and in thinking about it, i actually don’t remember the last time i took my camera out for myself! so nice.
so vaughn’s lying on a newfoundland flag, the brown thing underneath the flag is a beaver pelt, and his salt and pepper hat is lying close by. so no, this really could not have gotten any more newfoundland.
therefore, i had a solid laugh yesterday when i stumbled across this photo. i feel like he’s punching it and saying “newfoundland… represent.” even his little face looks so serious!
who wouldn’t want to start off a sunday morning with this little face?
seriously. suz (the beautiful momma pictured above!) is a good friend of mine & dru’s, and when she asked us to get together for a shoot with her little one i was in.
if i’m being honest, baby sessions are my favorite. who isn’t going to love a photo of a baby? and even in the madness i find those sessions really calming. is that weird? maybe its the oldest sister in me, or the old swim coach. i mean, hello… kiddy classes were the bomb. who else is going to say to me in awe, “wow, teacher! you swim like a dolphin… who swims like… like a mermaid!” now, while in reality that would probably look pretty messed up i still take it as a large compliment coming from a very shy three year old, and i laughed after that lesson for days. (thanks again grant!) seriously though, i say pass those sessions on.
on that note, the list of things to do/shoot when classes finally clues up is becoming endless. i love it.
this is the second last part of the grad catalogue series! funny how what has kept me busy for the entire month of february has made all the difference for my whole term, and for what I picked out for my graduation show too. speaking off… the grad show pieces got delivered yesterday! SUCH a relief.
back to… applications, work, and essays up to my eyeballs. 12 days to go!
i put up a quick preview of bree up just a few weeks ago, but seeing as per how TODAY is her actual birthday… and how her mom is a dream client (who shares my love of black and whites, can you tell?) i figured it’s worth putting up another load of favorites. she’s too cute not to share!
much love, and the happiest of birthdays to this very happy little girl!
so for demo day at marble mountain just a few weekends ago i had the chance to work with one of my favorite people (and photographers!) David Howells again while on a shoot for Magine Snowboards. and although the weather was mildly uncooperative, we all still managed to get a few shots and figured i’d post some outtakes.
a huge thanks again to dave for asking myself and jess along, and to the Magine boys for being so good about it too!
this break from school this week is a bit of a saving grace and its helping me get over some bad feedback too. bad is a relative term i guess, it’s not end-of-the-world worthy but i tend to take things to heart sometimes. especially with the end being so close now that any hiccups are going to come across frustrating… but also in the same respect, the end is so close that its comforting enough to help me not let too much of a chip come off my shoulder. just to be a devils advocate i suppose!
disclaimer: if your under the age of 18 (is that when you graduate high school? 22 is feeling really old right now), then when you don’t know, what your teachers won’t tell you, and what the student loans people don’t want you to know so you spend every last penny hanging around for 52 years, and what your profs want to keep blanketed and far over your head… is that university is the farthest thing from real life. on this planet. ever.
really though, finishing is going to be the biggest relief.
(on this planet. EVER.)
do i mention that in every blog post? probably. my redundant apologies! although maybe if your finding this frustrating… unsubscribe until april. that’s when i’m done. which i’ve already mentioned, and will in all likelihood mention another 278 times until then!
it might have been (absolutely freezing) out but it sure looked pretty! these guys were troopers letting me drag them to a few places around the city, and i couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. hope you like!
